The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Wikileaks Latest Document Dump
Well now, I’ve had a look at the Wiki Leaks website and must confess to being somewhat underwhelmed by what I read. Either I’m extremely cynical and suspected a lot of this stuff anyway, so it really isn’t ‘news’ anymore, or I’m really missing something (not excluding the possibility of both). The media really love to get the public worked up, don’t they? More worryingly, getting the masses geared up to hate specific nations or groups of people based on the supposed revelations in this latest information dump.
I initially came across a piece with the above title courtesy of the David Icke website, appearing in the Headlines section, and just had to look. The post was taken from a blog entry by Michael Rivero on whatreallyhappened.com which I also visited (along with 1376 others at that time, significant because… no reason).
The idea that we’re going to hear anything factual about what really happened from any of these sources is, frankly, laughable. The government (any government, pick one) will never reveal anything it doesn’t wish to, these great ‘revelations’ serve (them) a purpose, and are designed to create a specific set of responses among the people, which the media are only to happy to push.
According to one British snoozepaper:
“Hillary Clinton ordered American officials to spy on high ranking UN diplomats, including British representatives.
Top secret cables revealed that Mrs Clinton, the Secretary of State, even ordered diplomats to obtain DNA data – including iris scans and fingerprints – as well as credit card and frequent flier numbers.”
You mean, we didn’t already know this? The CIA have been doing it for years on ordinary folks, never mind those in positions of power.
Ah well, as I waded further I landed at the door of the Huffington Post, I saw a picture of Jamie Lee Curtis and smiled. The world is filled with madness, but there’s always Jamie Lee to brighten my day.
